Targa Telematics has published its third Sustainability Report and obtained the ESG Synesgy certification (Level B), in line with international ESG performance standards.
The report reaffirms the company’s commitment to managing its impact responsibly across three key areas: People, Business Model and Environment.
It also reveals how the global telematics and connected mobility firm reached important milestones in 2024 and introduced new initiatives to support its Action Plan, which aligns investments and operations with the goal of generating positive, measurable impacts.
A key development was the introduction of a Double Materiality Analysis, in line with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), to identify the most significant impacts, risks and opportunities for both the company and its stakeholders, including economic and financial aspects.
Major highlights over the past year for Targa’s people-led strategy include delivery over 17,700 hours of training, a 7.4% increase on 2023, surpassing its annual ESG target.
Ten internships were launched, and new female hires grew by 19%, reflecting the company’s commitment to gender inclusion.
Targa Telematics also obtained UNI PdR 125 certification, strengthening policies on maternity and paternity support and increasing gender representation on panels and at events.
To foster dialogue and transparency, the company introduced a new performance evaluation system, extended its feedback culture to subsidiaries, and launched an internal survey, currently applied to the R&D team, to assess employee satisfaction and workplace environment.
On the business side, Targa achieved several key certifications in the last year, underscoring its commitment to responsible, secure and innovative business practices. These include Group ISO 27001 with 27017 and 27018 extensions for Targa Telematics and Viasat offices, the TISAX label for the automotive sector, and renewed accreditation from the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), allowing the company to operate as an accredited public sector supplier. Targa Telematics also surpassed its goal of having at least 35% of material suppliers sign its Code of Conduct, strengthening its focus on quality, social responsibility and environmental sustainability across the supply chain.
Targa Telematics also make key progress on sustainability, strengthening its commitment to cutting greenhouse gas emissions and improving energy efficiency. The company increased its use of renewable energy across operational sites and promoted fleet management and smart mobility solutions that help customers reduce their emissions. The wider adoption of these technologies offers a practical way to optimise mobility and support climate protection.
Elena Bellini, head of marketing at Targa Telematics, commented: “Our commitment to sustainability is constant, as is our determination to pursue ambitious programmes that position Targa Telematics as a company capable of growing and developing its business while remaining fully responsible towards people, the environment and the communities in which we operate.”
